For Immediate Release:
CHICAGO, 19 May 2005 - Cold Energy, LLC is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Mr. Anthony C. Mamo, co-founder of the firm, and the creative mind behind its core technology. Over the course of a prodigious career, Mr. Mamo was granted 124 high technology patents (foreign and domestic) - including nine Frontier Area patents - across a number of industries. His brilliance revolved around the fundamental ability to approach enterprise class engineering problems, and solve them with often deceptively simple designs.

It was close to the end of his long life that he conceived of the invention that may ultimately prove to have the widest effects, and serve as a suitable capstone to Mr. Mamo's productive activities. Atmospheric Cold Megawatts is a system for the generation of energy based upon the differences in the atmospheric pressure at geographically spaced sites. The invention was awarded a No Prior Art patent (#6,696,766) by the US Patent Office in 2004.

The potential scope of the invention is immense - it describes a form of energy production equal in scale to hydro or coal plants, with virtually no environmental ill effects, and extremely low operating costs. Cold Energy, LLC was formed to manage the development and implementation of this invention, and its surrounding technology.

With the passing of Mr. Mamo, Cold Energy, LLC will maintain its originating purpose and focus. It will continue discussions with governments and potential investors, maintain its business development and global patent enforcement activities, and continue working on further iterations and applications of the design.

To achieve these goals, and maintain continuity, the following team has been assembled:

Ms. Therese Schroeder-Sheker will continue to serve as the Chief Executive Officer of the firm. Ms. Schroeder-Sheker has been involved with the company since its inception, comes from a strong entrepreneurial background, and is particularly adept at navigating the interface between academia and the private sector. Having founded and managed several companies, she has been responsible for sales, marketing, finance, and institutional negotiations.

Mr. John R. Crocker will take on the role of Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Crocker has been in involved in several engineering startups. His work in the utility, technology, and finance sectors includes running internet operations in a division of the Pittsburgh energy giant DQE, and more recently as a Managing Director at Merrill Lynch. He brings significant experience in business development, enterprise project management, corporate governance, and international operations to the table.

Dr. Robert W. Johnson has agreed to join the team as Managing Director of Engineering. His background includes such diverse areas as Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry, Metallurgy, Polymer Physics, Rheology (flow behavior of solids and fluids), and Statistics. He worked closely with Mr. Mamo to insure that the patent application was solidly grounded on proven engineering principles.

Edward R. Hearn, JD has agreed to take on additional responsibilities in the Office of the General Counsel, and will be the senior attorney charged with the monitoring and enforcement of the ACM patent. Mr. Hearn brings a strong background in intellectual property and industrial design law.

This team, and the staff that assists them, is firmly and aggressively committed to fulfilling the tremendous promise of the Atmospheric Cold Megawatts technology, and making certain that its benefits make as significant a contribution as possible towards meeting the growing energy demands of the 21st century.
